EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Introduction

1.              This is the 3rd monthly Environmental Monitoring and Audit (EM&A) Report prepared by Cinotech Consultants Limited for the project ¡§Contract No. HY/2011/09 ¡V Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Link Road ¡V Section between HKSAR Boundary and Scenic Hill¡¨ (hereinafter called the ¡§Contract¡¨). This report documents the findings of EM&A Works conducted in April 2013.

Remark: (1)Dolphin-related monitoring was conducted in the reporting month. According to the EM&A Manual for HKLR, the dolphin-related monitoring was conducted during the bored piling activities (e.g. installation of permanent casting for bored piling activities) which presented in Appendix A.  The dolphin-related monitoring conducted without bored piling activities are for reference only.

        (2) No archaeological site inspection was conducted in the reporting month.

4.              All 1-hour TSP monitoring was conducted as scheduled in the reporting month.  No Action/Limit Level exceedance was recorded.

 

24-hour TSP Monitoring

 

5.              All 24-hour TSP monitoring was conducted as scheduled in the reporting month.  No Action/Limit Level exceedance was recorded.

 


Construction Noise

 

6.              All construction noise monitoring was conducted as scheduled in the reporting month. No Action/Limit Level exceedance was recorded.

 

Water Quality

 

7.              All water quality monitoring was conducted as scheduled in the reporting month. There is one Action Level exceedance for suspended solids were recorded.

8.              According to the investigation, no pollution discharge from the marine works and sediment plume due to natural fluctuation of shallow water was observed. Therefore, all exceedances are considered not due to the Contract.
